Air Conditioner Split Unit

A Split Unit is an air conditioning unit that comes in 2 parts. The split unit places one part in the room to be cooled, and the other part is outside, reducing the noise associated with a condenser fan in a traditional type air conditioner. Both components of the split unit are connected by a special ‘umbilical’ pipe, which comprises of a flow return pipe, condensate pipe and the power cable. This system uses a flow of water between the two units to remove heat from the area, so not only are they quieter, but split units are more efficient than monobloc air conditioners as the heat is transferred to water rather than air. As the two components are separated, the inside unit can also be sited discreetly so they don’t interfere too much with the day to day running of the office.
